Don't just be Available, be Usable
2 Kings 4:29-37
[31]And Gehazi passed on before them, and laid the staff upon the face of the child; but there was neither voice, nor hearing. Wherefore he went again to meet him, and told him, saying, The child is not awaked.
God is not just looking for available vessels, but worthy vessels. It's not enough that you are available, more important is the fact that you are usable.
For Moses, Joshua wasn't only available, he was usable and successfully stepped into Moses shoes, for Elijah was Elisha, usable and successfully stepped into Elijah's shoes.
But gehazi, even though available, wasn't usable.
He went with Elisha's rod of power but it never worked in his hands because of the corruptness of his heart. It doesn't matter how much anointing you carry , if your heart is corrupted the anointing is as good as dead. Wrong motives kill the move of God that was why the rod never worked in Gehazi's hands.
God looks at the heart factor, He checks your motives more importantly than your ability. He won't do business with a corrupt vessel, no matter how hard working he/she is.
No matter how fragile you are as long as your heart is right and your motives are pure , God is set to do business with you and take you places, Ask Gideon and David when you meet them. Always keep your motive in check, ensure your heart is right with God.
