Purity makes for Honor
2 Timothy 2:21
If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

In the gold market, how purified your gold is, determines the value it commands. To be a person of honor, you must be a person of impeccable character. Impurities devalues gold in the same manner does character deficiency devalues a person.

To be a Bishop for instance, Apostle Paul stated the determinant factors in 1 Tim 3:2-8, if the purity of the life of the aspiring Bishop is not up to the standard stated in 1 Tim. 3:2-8, he is not qualified to be a Bishop.
The good news is that You and I can live a life of honor by default if we take care of all impurities in our lives.

Jesus inherited His name and was Highly Exalted (Phil. 2:9) because not one impurity was found in Him (John 14:30).

There is a higher life in Christ, there is the overcoming life, there's a higher level of Christian experience, but it's for those who will not let anything corrupt the purity of their lives. For those who will not give way to anything less than the Bible standard of a Christian.

Assignment: measure your life daily, check for every character deficiency in your life and take steps to correct them.

PRAYER: Lord, activate the mind of Christ in me, to the end that I shall live a life of impeccable character, in Jesus's name.
