Don’t Lose Character
Job 1:1

In the land of Uz there lived a man whose name was Job.This man was blameless and upright; he feared God and shunned evil.

Integrity is a major bedrock of authority; character is a major platform for dominion. It’s like the scaffolding that electricians use to climb up and repair lights. They can stay up there because something is holding them up. If the scaffold is removed, they would come crashing down. Job rose and remained and in position by character. When the devil attacked him and he lost everything, Job decided that he would not lose character.

In Job 27:3 and 5, Job seemed to be saying ‘It doesn’t matter what the devil took from me, until the day of my death, my integrity can never shift’ (paraphrased), because until integrity is lost, nothing is lost yet. Billy Graham, a man of unimpeachable integrity and towering growing character said, ‘if money is lost, something is lost; but if character is lost, All is lost.’ If money is lost, nothing is lost, nothing is lost because you can make it back. If health is lost, something is lost, because your health determines your life. But if character is lost, everything is lost. What that means is, whatever is lost can be found if character is in place.
You are not a loser by saying the truth or refusing to do the wrong thing. In Nigeria, they say, ‘if you cannot beat them, join them.’ That’s a lie of the devil. They say, ‘if you cannot do it the Nigerian way, you cannot succeed in Nigeria.’ But there are people that are not doing it the Nigerian way and are succeeding. To do it the Nigerian way is to experience the Nigerian plague. A character crash equals destiny crash. If you doubt me, ask Samson, Saul, and Solomon.

Remember this: whatever is lost can be found if character is in place.

Assignment
1.       Look at the lives of people like Samson, and Solomon, etc. and find out what made them to fall.
2.       Avoid the things they did.

Prayer

Father, help me to do all it takes to retain good character so that I can fulfil destiny. In Jesus’ Name.
